Folk
Arts Program
The Northeastern
New Jersey Folk Arts Program, one of seven such programs throughout the
state, pursues activities that preserve and present the cultural heritage
of northeastern New Jersey. It was established in January 1999 through
an infrastructure grant by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, funded
by the National Endowment for the Arts. It is by design a folk arts resource
center for the northeastern part of New Jersey, directly responsible to
the five urban counties of Hudson, Bergen, Essex, Union and Passaic.
